MASS TIMES AND RECONCILIATION

Saturday masses: 9.00am, Vigil 5.30pm. The first Saturday 9.00am mass of each month is an anointing mass.

Sunday masses: 8.00am, 10.00am, 6.00pm, (and Saturday Vigil 5.30pm)

Weekday masses: Mon-Fri 7.30am (Except public holidays when Mass is at 9.00am)

Reconciliation: Saturday 9.30am, 5.00pm.

CHRISTMAS 2009

Thursday, December 24, 6.00 pm (Children’s Mass), 8.00 pm & midnight (Carols commencing at 11.30 pm)

Friday, December 25, 8.00 am, 10.00 am (NB  There is no Mass on Christmas evening.)

Reconciliation will be available after each of the Masses on the weekend prior to Christmas.

EASTER CEREMONIES

Holy Thursday: 7pm

Good Friday: 10am Stations of the Cross

Good Friday: 3pm Commemoration of the Passion

Holy Saturday: 6pm

Easter Sunday: 8am, 10am, 6pm

Easter Monday: 9am (NB: No 7.30am Mass)

Reconciliation will follow each of the ceremonies on Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Also on Easter Saturday from 11am to 12 noon.

WEDDINGS

St Augustine’s welcomes couples who wish to be married.  Couples from the parish, or couples where at least one party regularly worships here, are most welcome.  Couples from outside the parish are welcome to apply and will be considered according to circumstances.

Couples will need to contact St Augustine’s Parish Office to arrange an interview with the priest.  At least six months notice should be given.

Times weddings are conducted at St Augustine’s are:  2.00 pm or earlier, 3.30 pm or 4.00 pm on either Saturdays or Sundays.

The following documentation is required by couples: 


BORN IN AUSTRALIA AND TO BE MARRIED WITHIN AUSTRALIA

BORN OVERSEAS AND TO BE MARRIED WITHIN AUSTRALIA

BORN IN AUSTRALIA AND TO BE MARRIED OVERSEAS

For more information with regards to flowers, music arrangements and availability of St Augustine’s Church for your wedding, kindly contact the church office.

BAPTISMS

Baptisms are conducted at St Augustine’s most Sundays at 11.00 am.  Parents will need to meet with the Parish Priest for instruction on the sacrament. 

If you plan to have your baby baptized at another church and you reside within the Balmain parish boundary, you will also need to make an appointment to meet with the Parish Priest. 

FUNERALS

Please contact the parish office.

FIRST RECONCILIATION, FIRST COMMUNION, CONFIRMATION

Prepared candidates are eligible to make the above Sacraments. 

If you are interested in your child making this Sacrament this year, you are required to attend the Reflection (Enrolment) Night for Parents (dates to be advised).

Your child will also be required to attend Spirituality Preparation Lesson scheduled over four weeks to prepare for this special event.
